13 years old leads the Mobile Police in high speed chase reaching 100 mph | Alabama Mobile County News


MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile Police say a 13-year-old boy led officers on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of 100 mph.

Investigators said police first spotted the vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road around 2:45 a.m. Thursday. When the officer turned on the lights and tried to get the car to stop, the teen sped away. Police said the 2007 Lexus was speeding 100 mph when the driver was driving down Springhill Avenue.

Another employee placed a median on the road and the teen stopped after hitting the curb.

The 13-year-old boy was detained for trying to evade the police.
