2 new COVID-19 cases reported in Guelph, 38 active cases
Guelph’s public health unit reported two new COVID-19 cases in the city on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 5,196.
Latest data shows Guelph has 38 active cases, with a new rollback also reported. The total number of resolved cases stands at 5,113, while the city’s figure of 45 deaths remains unchanged.

A new case has also been reported in Wellington County, bringing the total to 2,204 cases. Active cases are 27, with two recoveries reported. The death toll in the county remains at 38.
Across Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph, three cases are being treated in hospital, including one in intensive care.
There are 15 confirmed cases among 10 public and Catholic schools in Guelph and Wellington Counties. The University of Guelph says there are three COVID-19 cases connected to the campus.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health says 87% of residents turning 12 in 2021 or older have been fully immunized, while 89.4% have received a single dose of the vaccine.
In Guelph, 92.6% of eligible residents are fully immunized and 94.6% partially immunized. In Wellington County, 79.9% were fully immunized and 81.7% received a single dose.
So far this week, 1,450 vaccines have been used in the region, including about 750 first doses, about 150 second and 550 third doses.

A spokesperson for the public health industry said it has given more than 2,000 doses of Pfizer’s pediatric vaccine to children ages 5 to 11 since the rollout began last week.
As of Tuesday, 82% of eligible students on the Upper Grand School Board were fully immunized, while 84.6% had received two doses on the Wellington Catholic School Board.
