2 was rescued after trying to collect items lost in the previous rescue

ESSEXVILLE, Mich. (WNEM) – Two men were rescued from Essexville by the Coast Guard on Wednesday after trying to collect items they lost last weekend after having to be rescued.

Three men were rescued by the Coast Guard last weekend in Saginaw Bay. Two of the three go out to collect the lost things when their boat starts to sink.

They were hung on an iceberg for about 50 minutes, according to the Coast Guard.

Both men are being treated at a local hospital for mild to moderate hypothermia.

The Coast Guard said the men were still alive because they were wearing fishing suits over full body ice. If you’re trying to collect something lost in ice or water, the Coast Guard wants the public to always call a rescue company to help.
