2020 Tokyo Olympics: Serena Williams confirms she will not play at summer Games

Talking to reporters a day earlier than the beginning of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships, Williams mentioned on Sunday: “I am really not on the Olympic checklist … not that I am conscious of. And if that’s the case, then I should not be on it.”

She didn’t reveal why she determined to forgo the delayed summer season video games.

“There’s a number of causes that I made my Olympic resolution,” the 39-year-old American mentioned. “I do not actually need to … I do not really feel like going into them at present. Possibly one other day. Sorry.”

She continued: “Previously it is (Olympics) been an exquisite place for me, however I actually have not thought of it, so I’ll maintain not interested by it.”

The Olympics are scheduled to start out on July 23.

She has received 4 Olympic gold medals over her prestigious profession after making her Video games debut at Sydney in 2000.

Williams received gold within the doubles at Sydney in 2000 in addition to gold within the singles and ladies’s doubles at London 2012 and one other gold on the doubles at Beijing 2008.

Williams will look to win a record-tying twenty fourth main and eighth Wimbledon title when the well-known match begins on Tuesday when she faces Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus within the first spherical.
