2023 911 GTS Cabriolet America is welcoming open spaces

Porsche’s near perfect 911 GTS is having a new variant, limited to 2023. Taking advantage of the longstanding “USA” nameplate, 2023 Porsche 911 The Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition delivers the dream of a big West Coast touring, convertible in a classic German motorcycle icon. Unfortunately, the grandeur of that dream is only surpassed by the dire realities of today’s premium car market. Porsche only plans to send 115 of these to the continent it’s named for – and 15 of those will go to Canada.

On the dynamic side, you won’t be missing much. The US is based on the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet (available with manual and all transmissions) but doesn’t add unique mechanical elements to that already exciting package. What you get here is the look – Azure Paint the exterior in blue with Guards Red and (simply old) white accents. That’s right, it’s a big German touring car outfitted with star-studded awesomeness to pay homage to a very different drop-in “America” model from 70 years ago, the 356 America Roadster in 1953.

Porsche Cars North America President and CEO Kjell Gruner said: “The passion for driving Porsches is deeply rooted in America. In particular, there is something special about hitting the road in a 911 convertible. with a manual transmission fits perfectly here”. “It’s also the perfect time to add another ‘American’ model to our story as we look back 70 years since the 356 America Roadster and 30 years since the 964 America Roadster.”

Vertical stripe steering wheel, two-tone gearshift paddles, interior trim with double stitching, “911” embroidered seats, leather seats and two-tone stitching floor mats are all part of an optional “extended” interior package. The package also includes a color-matched Azure Blue key fob and a custom holster (shown above). By Porsche standards, this upgrade isn’t really that expensive – just over $7,500 – so we’d expect it to be a near-universal add-on.

That is of course, unless one believes there will be future collector value when only one of the few is built. do not have package said. As we have seen over the past few years, Porsche speculators will take their hats off to anything. Either way, the ticks on these will likely be more than ten times the price of those striped bits, so why not? All in all, the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America 2023 will set you back $193,880 (with the extended interior; $186,370 without it) including the $1,450 destination fee before the inevitable ADM. Porsche says it will hit showrooms this fall, but if you’re just learning about the car right now, chances are you’ve missed out. Acceleration.
