Another entry level Honda’s motobike dust bite. Not long after we found the base Honda Civic LX trim met its manufacturer in both sedan and hatchback body styles, CarsDirect to focus one seller Guide for the upcoming model year reveals entry-level front-wheel drive Honda Passport The EX-L will be no more in 2023. Honda’s U.S. configurator has confirmed it. Four-wheel drive system Passport EX-L becomes the new bar for entry, Passport is now an AWD-only proposition. As expected and as shown on the configuration, this raises the price to get in two rows focused on off-road intersection to $42,395 after the $1,295 destination fee. The new base model is $3,300 off our most recent price for the FWD Passport EX-L and $1,200 more than our most recent price for the AWD EX-L.
Honda introduces Passport for the 2019 model year with prices starting at $33,085. Elite trim top launches with MSRP of $40,325; that’s up to $47,855 for 2023. Obviously, the model launched as a mid-range equalizer for the adventurous still finding their way, but to be fair, AWD only 2022 Ford Edge is in the price range of $39,440 to $47,980.
Honda has streamlined the lines this way over the past few years. On the top of civic abandon LX, 2023 CR-V also no longer counts as an LX trim. Passport has abandoned its previous entry-level Sport trim for 2022. The Ridgeline pickup will eliminate the only front-wheel drive version in 2021. Honda’s only crossover under $30,000 more is front-wheel drive HR VUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU LX starts at $24,895. Then there’s the front-wheel-drive CR-V EX, which starts at $32,355.
At the moment, the cheapest two-row Passport costs $3,020 more than the cheapest three-row Pilot, the bigger brother is maintaining the FWD EX-L variant for the time being. Similarly, the Passport EX-L AWD costs $1,020 more than the Pilot EX-L AWD. However, there are major changes to the Pilot lineup, Next Generation Pilots 2023 are waiting in the wingsits coming soon and the price is bound to skyrocket.
