The price seems more Rolls-Royce than Cadillac, but the production process will also be similar to the British company’s low-volume production method. Starting December 2023 Celestiq will be built in General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, at a rate of just 1.2 vehicles per day, maintaining annual output at less than 500 units. Cadillac has invested $81 million in the Technology Center to produce the Celestiq, including funding a 3D printer, the automaker said.
Celestiq will also have a high degree of personalization. Customers will have access to an instructor and a Cadillac designer to configure their vehicle. Cadillac predicts that no two cars will ever be exactly alike.
2024 Cadillac Celestiq
The production model is largely the same as The concept of Celestiq was shown earlier this year, with minor changes such as a regular mirror in place of the concept’s camera, as that technology is not yet legal in the United States. Buttons replace conventional door handles.
The Celestiq is based on GM’s Ultium modular battery architecture, which in this case uses a 111 kwh battery pack that powers the electric motors for each axis. Combined output is estimated at 600 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque, which Cadillac says will help the Celestiq accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds. The Celestiq also has a unique gear ratio compared to other Ultium-based vehicles, which Cadillac claims is a key factor in optimizing performance and range, with the latter expected to be around 300 miles.

2024 Cadillac Celestiq
Air suspension with magnetic dampers and active roll stabilization will provide a comfortable ride, while four-wheel steering improves maneuverability for the large hatch. The Celestiq rides on 23-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires designed specifically for the vehicle.
On the inside, the Celestiq has a large display on the 55-inch dashboard with elements that can partially darken the display (known as “digital blinds”) to keep the driver from being distracted. An additional center console screen handles most of the control functions, and rear-seat passengers also have their own screens. The 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference sound system provides internal sound, while three speakers emit external noise to match federal “quiet car” rules.
Most of the interior is upholstered with hand-stitched leather, with many choices of decorative materials for customers. Celestiq also has four-panel glass roof allows the driver and passenger to set the level of transparency individually.
Cadillac also confirmed availability of GM’s version of Ultra Cruise, an upgraded version of the Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance system available on current Cadillac models, but it won’t arrive until 2024 as an over-the-air update. .
GM has a goal of producing an all-electric Cadillac by 2030 and “ambitious” to remove the exhaust from light vehicles by 2035. The Celestiq won’t contribute much to that goal in terms of sales, but it does. can produce a halo effect for a higher volume Cadillac’s EV.
