3DS eShop Spotlight – Butterfly: Inchworm Animation II / KORG M01D

Who made them?

Flat Black Films produced Butterfly and Detune is behind the KORG M01D.

What is the premise?

Start with Butterfly, which is a mobile animation engine that surpasses that of Nintendo Flipnote Studio 3D and offers a much more full-featured software. It allows you to video, record, draw, edit, import, export, and create all kinds of effects, all from your 3DS (or 2DS).

KORG M01D is a Western-exclusive eShop, an app that emulates KORG M1, a synth released back in 1988 included in many dance tunes late 80s, early 90s.

Why should you get them?

Well, we know that the KORG app is the winner — most KORG software is (KORG DS-10, KORG DSN-12, KORG Utilities) and this particular example simulates M1 . synthesis is a favorite. We had some serious Seinfeld And Madonna enthusiasts in the staff.

Butterfly: Inchworm is admittedly a new one for us, so why include it? Well, we recently got in touch with Wayne Unten, who expressed his love and admiration for both of these shows. Wayne is a huge Nintendo fan and animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and has make some brilliant shorts on his 2DS over the years has really shown the power of both mobile software (as well as Color! 3Dwhich we highlighted a few weeks ago).
