4 years old in critical condition after being shot in Griffin, 2 arrested | News


SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. (CBS46) – A 4-year-old Griffin boy is in critical condition after being shot in the head today inside an apartment in the 1100 block of West Poplar Street.

The Griffin Police Department said they arrested 20-year-old James Lee Evans on the charge. He is being charged with 2nd degree cruelty to a child and reckless conduct.

Evans was tied up for gang activity and theft when received at the time of his arrest.

The child’s mother, Jamacia Lyons, 24, was also arrested and is facing similar charges.

The child was transported to the Health Service in Macon.

Additional fees for these individuals and perhaps others are possible.
