5 students slightly injured in collision between school bus, dump truck in Glencoe – WCCO
GLENCOE, Minn. (WCCO) – Five students were injured when a school bus was hit by a dump truck Tuesday morning near Glencoe.
Glencoe School District officials said there were 16 students on the bus, and five of them were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The truck driver and bus driver – a 71-year-old man from Cushing and a 63-year-old woman from Glencoe – were not injured, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
“Today, as always, I am grateful to our bus drivers and the great responsibility they shoulder every day,” Sonju said. “This is a sobering reminder of the importance of safe driving.”
The collision took place on Highway 22, just west of Glencoe.
