He tricked his mother into lending her the voice of “December 4th” in 2003 Black Album. “I told her to meet me on set and we’d go to lunch,” he wrote in Decrypted. “She went down to the studio, and I just brought the track up and I said, ‘I just want you to talk about it.’ Because I know if I tell her [she was going to be on the song], she will be really worried. [She said], ‘What do you want me to say?’ And the rest is history.”
