6-year-old boy accused of sexual abuse at Clarkston school | News

CLARKSTON, Dekalb County (CBS46) – A parent has come forward to say her 6-year-old son was sexually abused on the school grounds. Clarkston Police are investigating an incident that is believed to involve a teenager.

According to a police report, the school’s social worker shared a video with authorities that captured an incident between minors.

The child’s mother, horrified, said her 6-year-old boy was unprotected at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf.

Danielle said she was contacted by a school social worker informing her that her deaf son had been sexually harassed by a teenager outside the school gates.

“My emotions are still going through because this is never going to get out of my head. This is horrible,” Danielle said.

She asked CBS46 not to use her last name in the report.

According to the Clarkston police incident report, a 15-year-old man exposed and then inappropriately rubbed Danielle’s 6-year-old child.

“We’re going to look for therapy,” says Danielle. Danielle said: “This should never have happened. No one’s child, no one has to go through this. This is disturbing.”

CBS46 went straight to the school looking for answers, asking for a message to parents who fear the same thing might happen to their children.

“Again, I’ll ask them to call me,” said Vanessa Robisch, interim superintendent at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf.

A mother, hopefully by sharing this story it will help any other victims who can come forward.

Danielle said: “Someone dropped the ball. Someone didn’t do their job.” “I don’t want anyone else to go through this.”

CBS46 has also contacted the Georgia Department of Education.

They made this statement:

Student safety is a top priority for the Atlanta Area Deaf School. Although the amount of details we can share is limited due to concerns about student privacy, school leaders became aware of the incident Tuesday morning, immediately notifying the agency. local law enforcement and has also taken action at the school level.

The Georgia Department of Education will not comment on any disciplinary action the teen faces.
