7 wrestlers honored by WWE after Vince McMahon’s departure
Over the past few years, more than 100 WWE wrestlers have been fired/released/futured with the quoted “budget cut” – even though WWE is having some incredibly profitable years. Big names in the company were launched, and this included four members of Bit Row – who had just debuted on Smackdown, only to be launched a month later.
However, before all these releases and budget cuts, the head of WWE, Vince McMahon, resigns and retired after it was found he pays millions of dollars to women. Since then, Paul “Triple H” Levesque has taken over the creative business and Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are serving as co-CEOs.
And changes have occurred since the new leadership took over. Levesque hopes to create more memorable moments– like Brock Lesnar driving a tractor to the ring. One of the ways WWE is starting to do that is by bringing in some of the talent that WWE has overlooked in the past two years.
Starting in Summerslam 2022, a week after the leadership change at the company, we’ve seen that and it will certainly continue, so we’re watching. And throughout the rest of the year, we’ll be updating WWE returns. But for now, take a look at the released wrestlers that WWE rehired after Vince McMahon left.
