Guangzhou Auto Show 2022 will take place on China now, and it got off to a pretty explosive start with a massive fire in one of the manufacturer’s booths. According to the report of Kien Miena Chinese news website, a car model of the Chinese car company IAT Automobile was the car that caught fire.

Footage shows a small personal mobile vehicle being doused with water by the fire brigade as smoke and flames rise. Another video from behind the curtain shows flames engulfing the veil. Lei Xing, a motoring journalist/podcaster, at the show took some pictures of the car and a video of the fire — his tweets is below. The concept photos appear to be pre-fire photos, as the video of the car on fire shows it being severely damaged by the flames.

“During the construction of our booth at car show, the work area accidentally caught fire for unknown reasons,” the IAT Automobile statement read. “The fire that broke out has been extinguished and no one was injured. We are actively investigating the cause of the accident and will make an official statement once the cause is found.”
of China News Sina reported the consequences of the incident. It reported that water stains were visible around the stall and the smell of something burning was still in the air. Reporters took pictures of the scene, but Time Weekly reports that representatives asked them to delete the photos after they were observed taking them.
