A real-time strategy game Minecraft is said to be in the works
Minecraft has a bit of experience from its sandbox building origins. Minecraft Dungeons saw the giant behemoth being transported to the dungeon and Steve even jumped ship and made an impact Super Smash Bros..
Now it looks like the biggest video game in the world might be the real-time strategy genre. Jeff Gerstmann – formerly of Giant Bomb – talked about this upcoming Minecraft game being developed on Twitch channel. Gerstmann said that the game was in beta at the time he saw it, and that it allows the player to control a human-like character who can command other characters to fend off their typical Minecraft enemies. friend:
From the basic description, and I’ve seen a few screenshots of it, it sounds like a real-time strategy game – some sort of RTS. But the difference is that you’re controlling a Steve-esque unit in the field and aligning your units around in a third-person view. And you’re in Piglins and it’s going to have a story and cutscenes and all that stuff.
Given that we’re in the middle of announcement season, Gerstmann addressed whether he thinks it’ll be shown in the next few weeks – specifically at the Microsoft and Bethesda conference on Sunday. Although he said “I don’t know,” he went on to say that “Microsoft seems to be testing it and putting it under a codename.”
Right now, we don’t know who is working on this potential spin-off, or if it will come to Switch – but given the popularity of the game on the system, it’s hard to think it will eventually. will not.
We will stay tuned for any more information on this RTS game. In the meantime, Minecraft fans are definitely busy with the new game The ‘wild update’ dropped earlier this week.
