Aaron Rodgers in His Vintage Watch Obsession, Dressing Like Nic Cage and Watching Football With Ted Lasso

Talking about the classics and the difference: You showed up in the training camp in July dress like Nicolas Cage in Con-Air. In your opinion, is it the best action movie of all time?

That is a good question. Hard to say. I featured two of my all-time favorite action movie stars last year: Nic Cage and Keanu Reeves. Big fan of John Wick and other Keanu movies — obviously Break point is another all-time classic. I’m a fan of almost everything Nic Cage, even his latest movie [The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent] it’s ridiculous – he’s playing him.

I got the idea when someone told me – actually as a compliment – that I looked like Nic Cage with my hair. I said, “Okay, I need to do something about this. Maybe it’s a Halloween costume.” And then it all came together the night before the training camp opened.

Attention to [my] training camp [fits] has become a big thing now. I wore these ridiculous glasses and a Office shirt last year and I think I need to improve my game a bit [this year].

Have you ever had any runaways with Nic Cage or Keanu?

No, it’s a shame. I think Keanu and I will be good friends. Nic, maybe — we’ll see. I’m a huge fan of both and would love to see them anytime.

Do you think the men around the league could value their womenswear a little more? It feels like you have a sense of humor about the whole thing.

I do! I’ve got some iconic looks. When we were in Winnipeg a few years ago, I break the Canadian Tuxedo. I think so To be a lot of streetwear comedy, however I don’t think guys in costumes usually believe it’s comedy.

We arrived in London, and our safety Adrian Amos was dressed like a banana: he had a bright yellow tracksuit, and underneath it he had what looked like a suit. diving suits. We have classified Hell out of him. He’s into fashion and has his own vest company, and one big joke is that nobody gets their suits – he’s eight or nine weeks late to fulfill his order.

Fashion is a really important thing for guys. There has been a relaxation of the dress code, which I think is very good. When I first entered the tournament, it was a lot of clothes – that’s the request [for the Packers], everyone must wear a suit. But [former Green Bay coach] Mike [McCarthy] reduce, and [current coach] Matt [LaFleur] has actually decreased. Now, the rule is basically “don’t look like a complete idiot” and “don’t wear any open-toe shoes.” Also, just about anything goes.

I think it’s nice to see the difference [looks]—Some big guys just wear things they won’t sweat all the time, and some really flashy guys try to wear it every week. I like guys who try to make themselves look like they’re not wearing a ladies jacket by throwing it over their shoulders. There’s a lot of resentment going on — if you wear a bad outfit to the plane, you’ll inevitably hear about it in the first 10 minutes of your flight.
