‘Absolutely devastated’: Cricket Fraternity expresses shock at Andrew Symonds death, tributes flood
Former Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds Cricket Australia said Sunday was killed in a car crash. According to cricket.com.au, Queensland Police are currently investigating the crash, which took place in the Hervey Ranges, about 50 kilometers from Townsville. Soon after news of Symonds’ passing broke, his contemporaries took to Twitter to mourn and express gratitude for the all-around man. Symonds is survived by his wife Laura and young children Chloe and Billy.

The 46-year-old who played 26 Tests and 198 ODI games for Australia is considered one of the greats of modern times and he has the ability to change the game within minutes.
Along with his bat and ball skills, Symonds is also a shooter and he was a key member of Australia’s more than 50 World Cup appearances in 2003 and 2007.

The right-hander has played for Queensland for 17 seasons and speaking of County Cricket, he represents Gloucestershire, Kent, Lancashire and Surrey.
In the Indian Premier League, Symonds has played for the Deccan Chargers and the Mumbai Indians.
