Addison Perdew charged for allegedly beating infant son to death – WCCO
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A mother faces second-degree murder charges for allegedly beating her 2-month-old baby to death in the 83rd homicide of the year in Minneapolis.
Addison Perdew, 23, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder in Dakota County on Friday.

According to the criminal complaint, police in Minneapolis replied to the 900 block of South 22nd Avenue on Wednesday around 3am it was reported that a baby had been “beaten to death” inside the apartment.
When officers arrived, Perdew was inside, on her knees and vomiting, saying she had taken a whole bottle of pills.
The suit said that curtains and blankets were spread throughout the apartment, and officials found the child on the bed. He is presumed dead at the scene.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled his death as homicide from multiple blunt force injuries.
The documents say that in a post-Miranda interview, Perdue said she didn’t remember hitting her son, but that she “was the only one there and definitely did it.” There are bruises on her right hand.
According to the lawsuit, Perdew wrote in a text message that she was “going to kill him” and “will suffocate him.”
She appeared in court for the first time on Friday afternoon. If convicted, the second-degree murder charge carries a maximum sentence of 40 years.
