AFC highlights potential Giants additions in free agency

Free agency begins March 15 at 4 p.m. ET.

Position demand: WR, LB, CV

With more than $45 million in projected cap space, GM Joe Schoen prepares for a free dealer shopping spree. The team has 18 free agency positions to fill before they release Kenny Golladay. While most of that money will go to Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, the Giants can still afford some luxury goods.

Jakobi Meyers, WR, New England Patriots

Unfortunately, the free dealer receiver in 2023 is more of a dollar store category. The Giants might be wise to wait until 2024, when Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Marquise Brown are present. But if New York were to re-sign Jones, he would need better weapons, and Meyers was the best option. He’s got six TD catches in 2022 — not spectacular — but no upcoming free agent receiver has more than that. Meyers’ strong hands make him a good slot receiver. Based on Professional football spotlightHis 63.2% disputed catch rate puts him in the top 5 over the past three years.
