Afghanistan: What’s in store for 2023? | TV Shows
On Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 19:30 GMT:
Late last year, the Taliban implemented a new set of strict restrictions on the rights of women and girls. It’s not just women who are banned parks, gyms and public baths but they are also banned university and work with humanitarian organizations. And some more scared rollbacks are still possible in the coming months.
In response to the ban on women participating in aid, some humanitarian organizations have suspended or reduced operations in the country under the pretext of essential role of women in providing humanitarian assistance. With two-thirds of the population expected to need humanitarian assistance in the next year, further erosion of the aid risks exacerbating the country’s already dire humanitarian crisis. According to the World food programIt is forecast that nearly 20 million people will be food insecure by 2023 with nearly 875,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
