Age Of Mythology retelling has been published


The Age of Myths finally get my own Definitive Edition with The Age of Myths is ToldXbox announced during its 25th Anniversary broadcast today.

Released in 2002, Age of Mythology offers a magical formula for the classic Age of Empires, with playable cultures based on Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythology. The player can craft mythical units by spending a new resource called ‘favor’, which is earned by praying or honoring a chosen god. New Atlanteans and Chinese cultures have been added in subsequent expansions, as well as the ability to summon massive, destructive Titans.

Age of Mythology was re-released Extended Edition in 2014, adding several upgrades including Twitch support and some graphical improvements, but now matched with the Final Edition treatment that three main Age of Empire games received.

“We know that the Age of Mythology community has been hoping for a Definitive Edition that we will distribute,” World’s Edge’s blog post about message reads. “We’re working hard to bring you the glory of the original game with updated graphics, features, and more.”

During the same anniversary broadcast, Microsoft also announced that Age of Empires II and IV will be coming to Xbox console for the first time.
