Alcohol ban starts today on Nashville’s undisclosed party vehicles | News
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – A new Metro ordinance takes effect today, banning alcohol on roofless vehicles in Nashville.
This ordinance is very specific to one type of bus or tractor.
Now, the Metro Police and Transportation Licensing Commission will enforce the new ordinance.
The MNPD said a team of six officers and a sergeant will join the Beer Stewardship Committee and Board to oversee compliance.
That will happen at pick-up and drop-off locations to remind businesses and patrons of the new ordinance, and violations could result in $50 fines.
Employees working in the recreation area Thursday through Sunday will be monitored for compliance.
The Metro Council is still debating two bills related to recreational vehicles.
One will review to include route changes to the party buses.
The other requires buses to obtain a permit from the transportation licensing commission, but it could take until April until those regulations are established.
