Alia Bhatt’s team called me to the Darlings first, I have to do something right, says Vijay Varma

Anyone who has watched Darlings on Netflix, knows how striking Vijay Varma is in this highly anticipated series. The movie brings Alia and Vijay together. The duo previously worked together on Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, which also stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Now, in a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, Vijay Varma recalled how Alia Bhatt’s team first contacted him for the role of Humza in Darlings. He also shared that a film like Darlings needs “a great deal of comfort and trust between the two actors”.

HOW HE PAID THE WAY FOR THE DARLINGS

Vijay added, “Roses like this can go south. I’m very excited and so the challenge is how to make it special, authentic and honest. It’s a feeling. very heartwarming, I had four or five scenes in Gully Boy and now I have to share the screen with Alia and she made it happen I got a call from Grishma from Alia’s team for the role. acting first, so I thought I had to do something right.”

DARLINGS REQUIRES COMFORT AND TRUST BETWEEN EMPLOYEES: VIJAY ON ALIA

Directed by Jasmeet K Reen, Darlings is a unique story about a quirky mother-daughter duo navigating crazy circumstances as they try to find their place in the world. Vijay Varma plays Alia’s husband in the movie. However, this is not the first time Alia and Vijay have shared screen space. Speaking exclusively to IndiaToday.in about reuniting with Alia, Vijay said, “I’m really touched because Gully Boy is a very special movie for all of us, it comes together so well. I have great memories and I remember Moeen (Vijay’s character in Gully Boy) as a character who was also a huge fan of Safeena (Alia Bhatt’s character). as an actor and doing this kind of movie together, it’s amazing.There are so many things that we really have to go through the movie that requires a lot of comfort and trust between the two actors, also like great skill among actors.”

Darlings, starring Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew, will air on Netflix on August 5.
