Aloy has romance options in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC

Aloy doesn’t have much time for romance in the dizzying events of Horizon Without Dawn, but in the sequel to the post-apocalyptic open-world RPG titled Forbidden West, the heroine forms many close relationships with other characters. However, those relationships are never more than pure. from fire coast DLC, currently only available on PlayStation 5 and set after the events of Forbidden Westthat has changed.

Many male characters have expressed feelings for Aloy in the past, but she will always take them down. However, it seems that traces of a romantic system were present in Forbidden West; in the dialogue options with Sun-King Avad early in the game, the player can choose answers from Aloy with a heart icon next to it, similar to how the sentiment-specific dialogue is delineated in BioWare games like Dragon Age and Mass Effect. However, choosing the heart options never led to a romance, which further prompted fans and critics to speculate that Aloy can be asexual.

Forbidden West also includes another hint in the plot of Elisabet Sobeck, a scientist from the distant past that Aloy is an exact genetic clone. Near end Forbidden WestAloy learns that Elizabet is a peculiar woman. Queerness has never been officially linked to a genetic marker in real life (although Many scientists have studied), but the Horizon games always seem to lean a bit towards magic when it comes to the extreme similarities between Aloy and her ancestors. Two people are essentially considered the same person, just in two different timelines. For that reason, many fans have assumed that Aloy is also weird.

fire coastNew DLC for Forbidden West, confirms Aloy’s gender by introducing the romance between the heroine and her female companion Seyka, who is new to this new chapter. The full scene can be viewed in the video below.

Aloy has the option to decline Seyka’s proposal, but even if she does, that refusal does not imply any implication that Aloy is forthright. Aloy’s response to Seyka’s dialogue is: “Yes, I do,” “I’m not ready for this,” or “This is too much for me.”

If Aloy reciprocates Seyka’s feelings, the two will kiss, but the DLC still ends with the characters breaking up. Either way, the inclusion of this new character and her affection for Aloy opens up huge opportunities for storytelling in future Horizon games—including a more romantic affair with Seyka. , or perhaps other characters.
