Amar’e Stoudemire Charged With Punching His Daughter

Former NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire has been charged with domestic violence in Miami after allegedly punching his daughter.

Miami-Dade prison records show Stoudemire, 40, is being held until he can pay a $1,500 bond.

The Miami emissary received a police report that Stoudemire’s daughter had told police her father had assaulted her, claiming she disrespected her grandmother.

“You’re saying the opposite,” the 6-foot-10 athlete told the girl “and punched her right in the jaw,” according to police. He then allegedly slapped her in the face “and continued to slap her on the left side of her body”.

“I observed blood stains on the victim’s sweater and sweatpants,” the arrest report said. “The victim’s mother showed me a photo she received from her daughter, which showed the victim crying and blood running down her face.”

The report said Stoudemire admitted hitting the child, telling police she was “sad that she was scolded by him for being disrespectful and lying.”

Stoudemire has four children with his ex-wife Alexis; It is not clear who was injured.

The former Knicks star’s early Sunday morning arrest comes hours after a celebratory Instagram post marked his graduation from the University of Miami with an MBA. Miami-Dade police did not immediately respond to a request for details about the case.
