The latest batch of free PC games are available to Amazon Prime members now. The August 2022 Prime Gaming lineup includes six free games – StarCraft: Remastered, ScourgeBringer, Recompile, Beasts of Maravilla Island, Family Mysteries: Poislusive Promise, and Zak McKracken and Alien Mindbenders. As usual, Prime members can also download free in-game content throughout the month for popular games like Apex Legends, Warzone, and Destiny 2.
StarCraft: Remastered Definitely the most popular game of the bunch. An upgraded and refreshed version of one of the best real-time strategy games of all time was originally released in 2017. It includes both the base game and the awesome Brood War expansion. The pair of campaigns featured in the remake are definitely still worth playing in 2022. However, when it comes to multiplayer, StarCraft is generally one of the most beginner-friendly games out there. These days you’ll mostly be up against dedicated StarCraft veterans, so it’s a tough battle to find success in online multiplayer.
Metroidvania enthusiasts should see Recompile. A Tron-inspired sci-fi adventure, this 3D platformer puts you in the role of a show that needs to save itself from deletion. Recompile has a branching story and stylish visuals. It offers a great mix of platforming, fast-paced gunplay, and hacking puzzles.
ScourgeBringer was another highlight of the August lineup. Precision transformer fans will be right at home with ScourgeBringer. It has fast-paced combat and a neat progression system that keeps you coming back from dying again. It’s a challenging game, but the classic visuals and sound mechanics are a treat.
The beasts of the island of Maravilla is an aa photography adventure set on a remote island inhabited by mysterious creatures. Family Mystery: A Wicked Promise is part of the Hidden Object Games series and plays out like a police procedure. Meanwhile, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders is a classic point and click adventure by LucasArts.
All six games are available to claim through August 31.
