Ambassador Bridge connecting Windsor-Detroit closed due to possible explosives

The Ambassador Bridge connecting Windsor, Ont., and Detroit is closed Monday morning on account of “potential explosives situated within the space.”

Windsor police tweeted shortly after 10 a.m. Monday that the bridge was closed to incoming U.S. visitors and that their explosive disposal unit was on scene.

Lower than an hour later, the police service issued an replace stating the bridge can be closing to Canadians getting into the U.S. as properly.

Police say the realm has been evacuated and visitors is being rerouted to the close by Windsor-Detroit tunnel in addition to to the Blue Water Bridge connecting Sarnia, Ont., and Port Huron, Mich.
