American hero honored with 100th birthday party in Midwest City


An American hero was honored at a 100th birthday party in Midwest City.Capt. Marshall Hanna had the birthday of a lifetime. “It just frustrates me. I can’t believe it. A voter turns out like that,” Hanna said. Pilots from Tinker Air Force Base surprised Hanna when he arrived but he said it wasn’t his only surprise when it came to the 100th birthday party. “I never thought it would. I’m going to tell you the truth. Since I was told by Hanna, there was such a wonderful birthday party and reception, I just loved it,” Hanna said. Hanna said: “I was shot. We were diving bombing in Germany. “There were so many candles on there, I wish I could finally blow them out,” Hanna said.

“It just got me thinking. I couldn’t believe it. A voter went to the polls like that,” Hanna said.

Airmen from Tinker Air Force Base surprised Hanna when he arrived but he said it wasn’t his only surprise when it hit 100.order birthday party.

“I never thought I would tell you the truth. Since I had such a wonderful birthday party and reception, I just loved it,” Hanna said.

Hanna flew a P-38 during World War II and even served as a POW before serving an additional 11 years in the Air Force. His stories silenced the audience.

“I was shot down. We were diving bombing in Germany,” Hanna said.

He said he didn’t really have any wishes at first, but when the cake arrived, he came up with one.

“There were so many candles on it, I wish I could finally blow them out,” Hanna said.
