Are the Lakers waiting for Bradley Beal to request a trade?

The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a lousy start but still aren’t ready to beat the 2022-23 season.

Based on Chris Haynes of Bleacher ReportThe Lakers are “known for being” coveted “Washington Wizards protecting Bradley Beal.

The Lakers have been interested in Beal in the past, but this particular case raises a lot of questions.

Haynes pointed out that Beal had another five-year contract with the Wizards, and agree includes a full non-trading clause. So Beal would have to request the transaction out of Washington to facilitate a move to LA. And that’s just the first step.

Next, the Lakers will have to put together a package to the Wizards’ liking, and right now, they don’t have many compelling assets to offer.

This year, Beal is averaged 21.6 points, 5.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds while shooting a career-high 52.1% from the field.

It’s no surprise that the Lakers would be interested in a move to inject some life into the team. With just two wins in their first 11 games, only the Houston Rockets (2-10) are worse in the league charts.
