In his CHEAP rating about Big eyesTodd McCarthy writes: “This culturally nimble, surprised, curious look at the married instigators of early 1960s woman ‘big eyes’ paintings exudes a compelling appeal. eccentricity while also painting a disturbing picture of male domination and female subordination a half-century ago.

“This is a story about copyright and ownership being the same in the face of a deeply unbalanced marriage, as well as the bitter struggle for recognition of one’s work, even if it is not. Opponents might ask, as one did, ‘Who wants to give credit to it? ‘”

Her story is also reviewed in Adam Parfrey and Cletus Nelson’s 2014 book, Citizen Keane: Adults lie behind big eyes.

Keane worked closely with screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski to develop the script for The Weinstein Co.

I can not believe it. I was really shocked for about two days.”

“Margaret is so gentle and sociable,” Adams said at the event. “I feel a great responsibility to play her with so much dignity and respect because I think she is a woman with a lot of dignity and a lot of respect, not only for herself but also for herself. for others”.

On Twitter, Karaszewski noted Keane’s death and wrote: “Grateful to all of us for spending so much time getting to know her beautiful spirit. It took a decade to bring Big eyes onto the screen.
