At least 20 people involved in burglary at Nordstrom in Los Angeles, local reports say
Police engaged in a chase after the suspects fled in at least four vehicles, the branch said.
CNN has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for comment.
The burglary reported at The Grove is the latest in a series of similar crimes.
About 80 suspects were involved in what police called a “smash” Saturday night at a Nordstrom site in Walnut Creek, near San Francisco.
Lieutenant Ryan Hibbs at the Walnut Creek Police Department told CNN. Three suspects were arrested.
“There’s a lot of people,” Brett Barrett said. “The police are coming. It’s like a scene from a movie. It’s crazy. … It’s a scary scene for a moment.”
Police have yet to estimate the amount for the stolen items, Hibbs said.
The incident followed a series of similar robberies Friday night in Union Square and surrounding areas in San Francisco, including at a Louis Vuitton store, a Burberry store, a jewelry store, a Bloomingdale’s, a Walgreens, a marijuana dispensary and even an eyewear store, San Sheriff Francisco Bill Scott said at a news conference Saturday.

Police told WLS that the men stormed into the store at the Oak Brook Shopping Center, took out trash bags and began filling them up. Surveillance video from the store, obtained by WLS, shows chaos as masked vendors swarm into the store to grab bags and other goods while shoppers rush into the street.
According to Sheriff James Kruger, investigators have information about three vehicles the thieves drove away. Oak Brook is about 25 miles west of Chicago.
On November 1, at least 13 men wearing masks and gloves entered the same Louis Vuitton store and stole several items worth $100,000. Northbrook is about 30 miles from Oak Brook.
“We don’t know if there’s any real connection, but there are certainly similarities,” Kruger said.
