Atascocita explosion: Man burned in truck blast, Harris Co. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says



ATASCOCITA, Texas (KTRK) — A person in his 20s was flown to the hospital with critical burns Friday morning after what the Harris County sheriff referred to as a “weird incident” involving an exploding truck.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez mentioned his deputies have been referred to as to the 20900 block of Greenfield Path in Atascocita for a reported automobile on hearth and explosion.

In response to the sheriff, a person left a residence after an argument together with his girlfriend when he acquired into his truck that then erupted into flames and exploded. The truck got here to relaxation in a neighbor’s yard.

The male exited the truck and collapsed, Gonzalez mentioned.

The sufferer, who was not instantly recognized, was transported by LifeFlight to a hospital in important situation.

Harris County Hearth Marshal’s Workplace mentioned the fireplace was decided to be unintentional, including the sufferer was refilling a butane lighter and smoking, inflicting the vapors from the butane to ignite.
