audio has once again teased coming Operation concept pre-launch was confirmed during an online event on January 26, 2023.
The Audi’s Activesphere Concept will complete the brand’s family of four ‘Sphere’ concept cars and are claimed to be “the perfect companion for outdoor adventures”.
Like all Sphere concepts to date, the Activesphere concept is all-electric and designed to be self-driving.
It is expected that the Activesphere concept will be based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture co-developed by Audi and Porsche and will underpin upcoming models such as Audi Q6 electronic and Porsche Macan EV.
This latest teaser image shows the Audi Activesphere concept from a top-down perspective. It doesn’t really show much other than the skis mounted on the roof, as well as the illuminated Audi badges.
Audi shows another teaser photo of the Activesphere concept earlier in the year, where it looks like a ‘crossover’ like a high-riding sedan – similar in essence to peugeot 408 and Citroen C4 X.
It has large wheels wrapped in off-road tyres, as well as flared wheel arches and an aggressive-looking decal running along the side.
Audi has yet to reveal the interior of the concept, but it can be said that it will be futuristic and could feature a foldable steering wheel for autonomous driving in theory.
The first in the Audi Sphere concept family was revealed in August 2021 with sky concepta modern take on a classic roadster.
Under the skin of that car is an electric powertrain that drives the rear wheels with a capacity of 465 kW and 750 Nm of torque, suitable for accelerating to 100 km / h in 4 seconds.
The Skysphere concept has a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of more than 80 kWh and an expected range of more than 500 km according to WLTP testing.
The second Sphere concept is Audi’s Grandsphere Conceptpreview of an upcoming electric grand tourer.
It has a 120 kWh battery and a two-motor four-wheel drive system.
Total power output is 530kW and 960Nm, with a claimed range of more than 750km according to the WLTP test and a 0-100km/h sprint time of just over four seconds.
It is followed by urban conceptpreviewed a possible electric vehicle for China.
At 5.51m long, it is the largest concept model ever developed by Audi and would be the brand’s largest production model ever if it were to be shown in showrooms.
The Urbansphere concept features one electric motor for each axle, which together generate 295kW and 690Nm. With a 120 kWh battery pack, this large passenger vehicle is said to have a WLTP range of 750 km.
Audi displayed three Sphere concepts that were revealed this August at Monterey Car Week in California.
