When using a BC vaccine card, you can display a QR code that you would receive if you had a smartphone or display a printout.
People under 12 years old are exempted from vaccination card because they are not eligible for vaccination.
Businesses can scan a QR code with a QR reader such as a smartphone or tablet, or visually verify the card and the person’s identity.

Use of the BC Immunization Card will be phased out to allow more time for people to transition to their new card.
From September 13 to 26, people can also use paper immunization records they receive at vaccination clinics or pharmacies.
Only BC Immunization Cards will be accepted as of September 27.

International travelers will need to provide proof of immunizations they used to enter Canada, such as the ArriveCAN application, along with their passport.
Henry says members of the Canadian Armed Forces who have been immunized through the job can present their military ID and immunization cards.
The province will provide businesses with a list of approved vaccines from outside the province.
When will BC’s Immunization Card program end?
The requirement applies until January 31, 2022 and is subject to extension, according to the province.
