BC/49 winner buys motorhome to travel around the US

BC’s newest lottery millionaire is planning to buy his dream motorhome then travel around the US with his wife.

Prince George resident Colin Turick told the BC Lottery Group he and his partner were both speechless after realizing he had matched all six numbers in the previous May 14 draw. AD / 49.

“I checked my ticket at the kiosk and thought, I must have misread this,” Turick said in a BCLC news release. “The machine is broken … something is wrong.”

But there’s nothing wrong with the machine – Turick won a $2 million jackpot.

“This win means I can enjoy my retirement,” he told BCLC. “I’m going to buy a motorhome and my wife and I are going to travel around the United States.”

The lucky ticket was purchased and checked at North Nechako Foods in Prince George, officials said.

The odds of matching all six numbers on a BC/49 ticket without using the bonus are approximately one in 14 million, according to BCLC.

The odds of matching all six numbers using the bonus, for a $75,000 payout, are about one in 2.3 million.
