BC Flooding: Federal Government Offers Recovery Assistance
HALIBURTON, ONT. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the federal government stands ready to assist those affected by the devastating flooding in British Columbia on Monday.
“We stand ready to provide any support needed as you respond to and recover from this flood and extreme weather,” the Prime Minister said in a statement. “We’re here for you.”
The province has been affected by a weather system since Sunday with rain causing flooding, landslides, rock slides and widespread highway closures between the Lower Mainland and the Southern Interior.
Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair on Monday said Ottawa was in touch with the province and “stands ready to assist the people of British Columbia, if needed.”
