Before the cheaper 2023 Chevy Bolt EV, GM offer gives 2022 models almost the same discount

Chevrolet Bolt EV 2023 is available big sale offbut there’s no need to wait because General Motors is heavily discounting its 2022 models, according to CarsDirect.

Starting June 8, all 2022 Bolt EVs are eligible for a $5,900 discount, according to the website. Nearly identical Bolt EUV gets an even bigger $6,300 discount.

While there’s likely not much left in stock, Chevy is also slashing the price of the 2021 Bolt EV by up to $12,900. Those savings can be combined with a $3,000 bonus for electric vehicles equipped with DC fast charging and a $3,750 loyalty discount for existing Bolt EV tenants totaling the amount saved is $19,650, according to CarsDirect.

The 2021 Bolt EV, however, precedes the refreshed and improved electric hatchback received for the 2022 model year, and also sees the Bolt EUV’s addition to the lineup. A comprehensive battery-related recall began not long after the 2022 models were launched, production pause over the years.

The discounts for 2022 also come with some caveats. CarsDirect Note that the new offer is from Chevy’s Customer Cash program, which applies to purchases only, not rentals. The most affordable also includes a loyalty discount, which new Bolt EV consumers don’t qualify for.

These discounts, however, will give electric vehicle buyers another option than waiting for the 2023 models to arrive in dealerships. 2023 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV drop in price by $5,900 and $6,400 respectively. Bolt EUV also received a New Redline Edition model, with sportier styling elements.

With the new discount, recent misrepresentation of the Bolt EV and EUV as an “expensive” electric vehicle is even more inaccurate. With 2023 models now starting at under $30,000 before the offer, they’re currently among the lowest-priced and affordable electric models even by internal combustion vehicle standards.

In part, the price drop is creating space for both new products Chevy Blazer EVstarting around $40,000, and Equinox EV do start around $30,000.
