Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has advised the Red Devils to sign Kaoru Mitoma, hinting that the move could resemble Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard success.
After losing longtime target Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea, Arsenal quickly signed Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion for a fee of 24 million euros. The Belgian has settled into life in north London, scoring once and providing six assists in 12 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.
Mitoma has emerged as one of the Brightonthe brightest players since Trossard moved to Arsenal. The Japanese left winger has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 27 games in all competitions, attracting interest from many big clubs.
Analyzing Mitoma’s performances, Saha insists that he has what it takes to thrive at a big club like Manchester United. Speaking to Betfred, he said:
“Correct [Mitoma can play for an elite club]. He is a great player, very intelligent, mobile and agile. You’ve seen Leandro Trossard show what he can do at Arsenal and I believe Mitoma is capable of doing the same for a bigger club.
“He has been very consistent for Brighton this season and I am very impressed with him. There’s a difference between playing for Brighton versus playing for Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal, so that would be a big step for Kaoru.”
According to The Sun, the Mancunians recently sent scouts to watch Mitoma play. It will be interesting to see if the Japan international can put up a show for his potential suitors in Brighton’s FA Cup semi-final against United in April.
Dutch legend Ruud Gullit thinks Wout Weghorst is not good enough to play for Manchester United
Dutch football icon Ruud Gullit has criticized Wout Weghorst after the Netherlands’ European Qualifier 2024 win over Gibraltar on Monday (March 27), saying he is not fit enough to play for Manchester United. The 30-year-old scored a white goal as his team won 3-0.
Ruud Gullit on Wout Weghorst: “I always look at him in a weird way. I admire him a lot, but at the same time I think: he is not good enough for Man United and Oranje. Sometimes you see flaws.” [@ZiggoSport]#MUFC #RS https://t.co/N8ZxV8SqLA
Gullit claims that while he admires Weghorst, who has scored twice in the net Argentina in World Cup 2022, he doesn’t think the striker is good enough to represent United or the Netherlands. On Ziggo Sport, he said:
“I always looked at him in a strange way. I admire him a lot, but at the same time I think: he is not good enough for Manchester United and Orange. Sometimes you see flaws.”
Wout Weghorst joined the Red Devils on loan but has not proved the stability in front of goal as expected, scoring only 2 goals in 18 games. I’m ready to come back Burnley at the end of the short-term loan term in June 2023.
