Bella Thorne said she lost her acting job at the age of 10 after an unnamed casting director accused her of “flirting” with him.
Former Disney Channel 25 years old and famous in love actress recounts “crazy” incident on Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast High Low with EmRata.
She said, “I had a director give me feedback once and I was 10 years old. “The casting director called my agent and the agent called my mom, and they said, ‘So she’s not moving on because the director feels like she’s flirting with him and that makes you It’s really annoying.’ What the hell are you talking about, man?! I don’t care what I have to say! I don’t care if I say, ‘Eat my pussy now’! [I was] 10 years old. Why, why, do you ever think that?”
Ratajkowski replied: “Also, he feels that it’s a real problem.”
“Also, you’re in for a director’s session,” Thorne added. “You can’t really say or do much. You do the shot, you say ‘hello’, you walk out. There’s no time to be like, ‘Let me sit on your lap or make you feel uncomfortable.’ What the hell are you talking about, man?”
Thorne added that she thinks about this moment every day. “I’m trying to figure out most of the blame myself,” she said. “Like: ‘What did you do, Bella? What did you do to make him feel like this? And every time I say, ‘Bella, stop it.’ Even that thought is becoming part of the problem… it drives me crazy.”
Ratajkowski stated, “If you need a more horror story about Hollywood and pedophilia and child sexualization, I don’t know there is.”
Thorne recounted the anecdote after Ratajkowski recounted an incident of her own, saying that when she was 16, a modeling agency told her, “This face, this is how we know the girl. This is fucked… Emily, you have to give this a lesson,” and added, “But that’s the reality of being a young woman in the industry.”
