Bellevue man allegedly stabbed GameStop employee, robbed store
According to Bellevue police, a man allegedly stabbed a GameStop employee before stealing money from the cashier on Tuesday. Staff told officers that a male suspect entered the store, assaulted him and stole an undeclared amount from the cash register. The employee, identified by Bellevue police as Chris Digiacinto, 34, was transported to Nebraska Medical Center. About four hours after the incident, detectives found Wakefield near South 41st Street and Bartmann Drive in Bellevue. The suspect fled from officers but was apprehended after a brief chase.
According to Bellevue police, a man allegedly stabbed a GameStop employee before stealing money from the cash register on Tuesday.
Bellevue police officers responded to GameStop about a robbery around 1 p.m. Tuesday, and found a male employee with multiple stab wounds.
Staff told officers that a male suspect entered the store, assaulted him and stole an undeclared amount from the cash register. Employee, identified by Bellevue police as Chris Digiacinto, 34 years old, was transported to Nebraska Medical Center.
After investigating, officers said they were able to identify the suspect as 25-year-old Calvin Joe Wakefield.
About four hours after the incident, detectives found Wakefield near South 41st Street and Bartmann Drive in Bellevue. The suspect ran away from the officers but was caught after a brief chase.
Wakefield was charged at the Sarpy County Jail with robbery, second-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
The investigation is underway.
