Ben Affleck’s Batman Returns for Aquaman 2 – The Hollywood Reporter
Arthur Curry and Bruce Wayne are trying again, with Jason Momoa revealing that Alliance justice costar Ben Affleck will appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Momoa revealed the news on Instagram on Thursday, after fans on a Warner Bros. bus tour. apparently realized that Affleck was there filming with him.
Affleck previously announced his retirement as Batman in 2019 and has been open about the personal and professional conflicts that come with the role. So it was a surprise two years ago when it was revealed that Affleck had once again called for The Flashthe film starring Ezra Miller will premiere on June 23, 2023 and will also star Michael Keaton as Batman.
It was assumed that it would be Affleck’s last time taking on the role, but now he’s poised to return sooner than later. Lost Kingdom until March 17, 2023.
Affleck plays Batman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Alliance justice. At one point, he directed and starred in Batman before stepping back.
“I showed someone the Batman script,” Affleck said New York Times in 2020. “They said, ‘I think the script is great. I also think that you would drink yourself to death if you went through what you just went through again. ‘”
