Bernadette Peters on Broadway Star-Packed Diner Scene in Tick, Tick… Boom – The Hollywood Reporter
In what has quickly become a Broadway fan favorite, Lin-Manuel Miranda Clap, Clap… Boom! there’s a scene where the theater heavyweights at the Moondance Diner explode in a performance of “Sunday” by Jonathan Larson, with Andrew Garfield playing the future To rent playwright.
To assemble “Jonathan Larson’s choir of dreams,” as Miranda put it at the film’s premiere on November 10, he “burned out”. [his] Rolodex, starting with the great Bernadette Peters. ” Peters, who joined everyone from Phillipa Soo to Chita Rivera, was quick to say yes after receiving a text from Miranda.
“It was at the beginning of COVID, so we were all really careful and kept away from each other, photographed in very small pods,” Peters said. CHEAP at the November 30 premiere of Zoey’s Unusual Christmas, the Roku movie in which she also starred. “I think Lin did a great job.”
