Best-selling plug-in hybrid car in Australia in 2022
The best-selling plug-in hybrid for 2022 is MG HS with over 1500 sales and a huge lead over second place Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
Europeans fought each other with Volvos (XC60, XC90, XC40), BMW CAR (X3, X5, 3 Lines) and Mercedes-Benz (GLC) each found several hundred buyers.
While the technology is touted as a stepping stone to all-electric vehicles, the total number of plug-in hybrids sold in 2022 is just 5,937, compared with 33,416 all-electric vehicles.
These figures are also dwarfed by the significant number of standard (non-plugged) hybrid vehicles sold in 2022, accounting for 81,673 units – of which 72,814 belong to Toyota.
