Bianca Andreescu completes epic rally in Adelaide

Canada’s Bianca Andreescu came back from 6-0, 5-2 to knock out Spain’s Garbine Muguruza in the opening match of Sunday’s Adelaide International in Australia.

Andreescu completed a 0-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1 win in two hours and 12 minutes to start the WTA 500 event and make it 3-0 against Muguruza.

In another first-round match on Sunday, Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi won 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 over Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus.

To the south, American Marcos Giron beat Richard Gasquet of France 7-6 (5), 6-7 (6), 7-5 in nearly three hours, and fellow American Mackenzie McDonald took the lead. before 6-3 when Daniel Elahi Galan of Colombia withdrew with an abdominal wound.
