Biden just ordered the military to shoot down a flying object in the sky of Alaska

President Joe Biden ordered the U.S. military to shoot down an object that flew over Alaska, the White House said on Friday, less than a week after fighter jets shot down a hot air balloon believed to be caused by a balloon. Chinese reconnaissance in the Atlantic Ocean.

A spokesman for the National Security Council John said: “Out of an abundance of caution following the recommendations of the Pentagon, President Biden ordered the military to take down the object, and they did.” Kirby told reporters.

Kirby said the object was over US territorial waters, was flying at 40,000 feet and “posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flights”.

The White House said the object was significantly smaller than the spy ball that was shot down last week – about the size of a small car. The United States does not know if the object is publicly or privately owned, but the Pentagon hopes to be able to recover the object because it fell into frozen waters.

Kirby said there is no indication that the object has the ability to propel itself or maneuver like the balloon that crashed last week.
