Bird trapped in Cape Coral glue trap found
CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A blue jay was admitted to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic (CROW) Wednesday after it was found trapped in a glue trap in Cape Coral.
People who found the bird trapped in the trap tried to help by clipping the animal’s wings, wildlife officials said.
When the bird reached CROW, it had visible cuts from trying to free itself and was missing feather tips along with some tail feathers.
According to CROW, the blue jay is given pain medication and supportive care, and will be closely monitored while his recovery continues.
Wildlife officials advise anyone who finds an animal trapped in a glue trap to never try to pull or cut it, but instead sprinkle flour over any adhesive. reveal.
