Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition receives original version on Steam after poor reception
It seems that fans of Blade Runner shed a few tears (in the rain) about the state of the newly released version Blade Runner: Advanced Edition. In fact, developer Nightdive Studios saw fit to release the original version of the game as an update for owners on Steam.
While our review for the Switch version is currently being worked on, reception for Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition has not been entirely positive, with many suggesting that the visual upgrades are truly disruptive. More harm than good to the overall experience. Continue PCGamerFraser Brown wrote that the game was “a disaster, not a remake” and said that it “is an inferior version by significant margin and should be avoided unless you really want to play it on control panels that it has now appeared for for the first time”.
The original version of the game for Steam was named Classic Blade Runnerand the player will be given the choice of playing the game in its original form or with advanced changes at the start of the game. There’s no word on whether the Switch version will receive the same treatment, but if the game is as bad as people say, we’ll be waiting for some good news soon.
