BMW 3 Series price increases up to 10,000 USD when updated
The BMW 3 Series mid-life update will go on sale in Australia from October with a host of enhancements, in line with the massive price increase for the 2023 model year.
Price rises after a different rally we wrote about in August this year, including Series 3 before LCI.
At the heart of the changes are subtle design updates, new lighting, the latest BMW infotainment system with a new display and a host of added features.
But BMW’s entry-level 320i sedan is now $5400 more than the 2022 model with a starting price of $78,900 before on-road costs.
The current shape 320i import price when it was announced in June 2019 was $64,900 – meaning the opening price has increased by almost 22% in about three years.
The 320i’s new opening gambit matches the starting price of rival Mercedes-Benz C200, cost also increased significantly with the launch of a new model earlier this year.
The best-selling BMW 330i sedan and Touring are up $10,100 over the 2022 models, at $93,400 and $97,400 before on-road costs, respectively.
The BMW 330e PHEV is $7,100 more than the MY22 model, at RRP $97,400.
The top-of-the-line BMW M340i xDrive model (aside from that) is another matter: BMW previously offered the better equipped M340i xDrive Pure and M340i xDrive, while now it offers only one variant.
At $104,900, the latest M340i xDrive is a reasonable $1300 more than the old Pure and $8700 cheaper than the full MY22 M340i xDrive.
