Now the current generation CAR M3 and M4 been out for several years, the high-performance variants have officially hit the market. Last year saw M4 CSL revealedbut this year BMW car add 2024 M3 CS into the squad.

“CS” stands for Competitive Sports and if you are familiar with the calculation formula BMW CS . model, which maintains the trend. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine has been tuned to produce 543 hp, 40 hp more than the conventional engine. Competition M3. Torque output remains the same at 479 pound-feet. BMW says it found the extra power by increasing the boost pressure from 24.7 psi to 30.5 psi. It also features model-specific changes to the engine management software.

BMW says the CS features specially designed engine mounts for a tighter connection between the engine and vehicle structure. As a result, the throttle input and the transmission of torque to the powertrain should be sharper. The CS will only be offered with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, both of which are needed to make it the fastest M3 variant with a 0-100 km/h time in just 3, 2 sec. That’s 0.2 seconds faster than a xDrive model not CS M3 Competition. Top speed is 188 mph, making the CS faster at the top 8 mph.

For those who want rear-wheel drive, the CS’s AWD system can be set to 2WD only with stability control turned off. BMW also says it has optimized the oil supply for the multi-disc clutch to keep the system operating at peak performance when driving on difficult roads. Lucky for anyone who wants a manual transmission.

The chassis received a number of optional upgrades to improve handling performance. BMW says it has specially adapted the electronically controlled dampers and anti-roll bars for the CS model. Additionally, it features unique wheel camber settings and model-specific axle kinematics adjustments. The steering is tuned specifically for the CS, and so are the adjustments for the stability control and AWD systems. michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires can be fitted as a free option, but the regular (currently unspecified) high-performance tire is available as a standard setup. Standard forged wheel covers – 19 inches front and 20 inches rear – are finished in Gold Bronze or matte black. M carbon ceramic brake are available, but the M3 Competition xDrive’s standard brakes are fitted differently.

BMW ensures you’ll know it’s a CS from the outside with the unique kidney grille as above M4 CSL. This grille has “M3 CS” badging on the upper slats and has red outlines as a frame around the outside of the grille. The daytime running lights are bright yellow as a sign that sports car racing instead of normal white light, like M5CS. Exposed carbon fiber Reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for the hood (two bands are visible), roof, front splitter, front air intakes, mirror caps, rear fender and rear spoiler.

Shaving weight is part of what makes a CS product. In addition to the exterior details, BMW equips the CS with M Carbon bucket seats as standard equipment. In addition, a titanium muffler is fitted instead of the standard exhaust system. In total, BMW says the M3 CS is 75 pounds lighter than the standard M3 Competition with xDrive, and that’s before you factor in the additional potential savings from the carbon ceramic brake option.

Disclosure, proclamation color you see in the photos here is an optional add-on called BMW Individual Signal Green. Frozen White Metallic is the only M3 CS exclusive color offered and two free paint options are Black Sapphire Metallic and Brooklyn Gray Metallic.

Inside, BMW offers a single black Merino leather option for the seats. It is accented with Mugello red stitching dotted around. The red “CS” logo is placed on the center console and the door sill plates also read “M3 CS”. The M steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara and has a red center marker. A carbon fiber gearshift lever is attached to it and the interior trim continues the carbon fiber theme. Every M3 CS comes with the M Drive Professional package as standard equipment — which adds an M Drift Analyzer, lap functionality, and a 10-stage traction control system. Finally, the M3 Cs feature Regular 3 Series’ New 14.9-inch curved display and redesigned center stack. It will run the improved version iDrive 8″ infotainment system which M3 2023 adds to the list.

BMW says the M3 CS will be “built in limited numbers”, but did not specify how many in total will be produced. If you want one, it starts at $119,695, including destination fees. Compared to a base M3 Competition xDrive, that’s an extra $36,100. Production started in March of this year.
