Boat fire on Scugog River in Lindsay deemed arson: police – Peterborough
A ship fireplace on Scugog River in Lindsay earlier this month is now being handled as an arson investigation.
In response to the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service, round 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 14, emergency crews responded to a ship fireplace on the Scugog River within the space of Lindsay Road North.
Kawartha Lakes Fireplace and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fireplace, however the boat sustained in depth injury, police stated. No accidents had been reported.
On Friday, police stated the investigation has decided the fireplace has been deemed suspicious.
Investigators have obtained video footage and want to establish and converse with a person. A surveillance picture of the person of curiosity was launched on Friday morning.
